How do you choose which of the world’s numerous problems to solve first?

Considering all the publicity Climate Change has received recently, I found the contrarian perspective offered by Larry Brilliant during his talk at TED really interesting. He describes an economic approach to comparing problems - solutions actually.

Turns out the the incredibly smart freakonomists watched the same video and decided to offer their own take on the subject.

I wonder though, do we really have to choose?
